Dermal Fillers

Restore, Refresh, Rejuvenate

What Are Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used in our cosmetic dermatology to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, and rejuvenate the skin. They are commonly used to re-volumize areas such as the cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, temples, around the mouth and under the eyes (tear troughs), as well as other areas like the hands, which often show early signs of aging.

One of the most popular and trusted types of fillers is Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps keep it plump, hydrated, and youthful. As we age, our natural HA levels decline, leading to volume loss, fine lines, and sagging. HA-based fillers safely and effectively restore this lost volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance natural features—with results that are visible immediately after treatment.

Why Hyaluronic Acid?

* Injectable treatments may cause temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness. Your practitioner will discuss treatment suitability, expected outcomes, and any relevant considerations during your consultation. Results vary from person to person.

Other Types of Fillers

Like Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA) are considered as semi-permanent fillers or biostimulatory (collagen-inducing) fillers, they are mostly used to stimulate collagen and elastin production and restore the facial volume through new collagen synthesis.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite is generally avoided in some areas of the face because it cannot be dissolved in case it is necessary.

Poly-L-Lactic Acid is mainly used as a biostimulator for thin faces to restore the collagen layer in large depressions like sunken cheeks.

You can read more about CaHA and PLLA in the Collagen-Stimulating Skin Boosters page.

At Skin Experts Polyclinic, we never use permanent fillers, as they can cause long-term complications and are difficult—sometimes impossible—to remove. Product choice, risks, and expected outcomes are discussed during consultation.
