HIFU Treatment Clinic

HIFU

What is HIFU?

A non-invasive medical treatment that uses focused ultrasound waves to stimulate collagen production in the skin, leading to tightening and lifting of sagging areas, commonly used for cosmetic purposes such as facial rejuvenation.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Here are some points to consider when determining if someone is a good candidate for HIFU treatment:

  • HIFU is most effective for individuals with early to moderate sagging skin, as it can help tighten and lift the treated areas.
  • Candidates should prefer non-surgical options over traditional facelift surgery for skin tightening and rejuvenation.
  • Patients should have realistic expectations about the results of HIFU treatment, understanding that while it can provide noticeable improvements, it may not achieve the same level of transformation as surgical procedures.
  • Candidates should be in good general health and free from any conditions that may interfere with the healing process or increase the risk of complications.
  • HIFU is not suitable for individuals with metal implants in the treatment area, as the ultrasound waves may interact with the metal and cause harm.
  • Patients should be willing to undergo repeat treatments as recommended by their healthcare provider to maintain the results of HIFU therapy.
  • Ultimately, the best way to determine candidacy for HIFU treatment is to schedule a consultation with a qualified healthcare provider or cosmetic surgeon, who can assess individual needs and provide personalized recommendations.

Benefits:

  • HIFU treatment is non-invasive, requiring no surgery and resulting in minimal downtime.
  • It effectively tightens and lifts sagging skin, promoting a firmer and more youthful appearance.
  • The results of HIFU treatment are natural-looking, with gradual improvement over time and without drastic changes.
  • Patients typically tolerate HIFU well without the need for anesthesia.
  • HIFU is versatile, capable of treating various areas of the face and body with laxity.
  • Side effects of HIFU treatment are minimal, usually involving temporary redness and swelling.
  • The effects of HIFU treatment can last for months to a year, providing long-lasting rejuvenation.
  • HIFU treatment can be customized to address individual needs and desired outcomes.
  • There is no recovery time associated with HIFU treatment, allowing patients to resume normal activities immediately.
  • HIFU treatment is safe and FDA-approved for cosmetic use, ensuring its reliability and effectiveness.

More Details:

Several technologies are available to tighten skin, but our favorite is HIFU (High intensity Focused Ultrasound), which is slowly replacing surgery for the treatment of early to moderate saggy skin, particularly for patients with early laxity. HIFU is suitable for men and women who are considering a mini facelift or simply need tightening of their face. Other areas where HIFU is useful include the forehead to lift the eyebrows, and any area of the body with mild laxity.

At Skin Experts, we use HIFU effectively, to tighten the skin in one session. The treatment is well tolerated with topical and oral analgesia, and most patients see immediate results, without any downtime. Patient’s firmer skin continues to improve for six months later, when the collagen remodeling is complete. The feedback that we often hear is that the result is similar to a mini-lift. It is recommended to repeat the treatment every 6 months to 1 year.

While not every technology works for all patients, in our experience and with our systematic rejuvenation approach, this technology regularly leads to firming of the skin. Importantly, HIFU is highly dependent on the operator. At the Skin Experts polyclinic, we have experience in treating hundreds of patients and maximizing their results, whether using HIFU alone or in combination with Botox and fillers.
