Chemical Peels

What is Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments designed to improve the appearance of the skin by precisely removing its damaged top layer. This process helps achieve flawless skin with recovery periods tailored to individual needs and expectations.

Am I a Good Candidate?

You are a good candidate if:

  • You have skin concerns such as fine wrinkles, acne scars, dull skin, sunspots, rough texture, acne, or large pores that you wish to improve.
  • Your skin type is suitable for the type of chemical peel being considered. Some peels are better suited for certain skin types than others.
  • You are in good overall health and do not have any conditions that might interfere with the healing process.
  • You have realistic expectations about the results and understand that multiple sessions may be necessary for optimal outcomes.
  • You are committed to following post-treatment care instructions, including skincare routines and sun protection.
  • You do not have active skin infections, diseases, or conditions such as eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area.
  • Smoking can interfere with the healing process, so being a non-smoker or willing to quit can improve your candidacy.

Benefits:

  • Chemical peels effectively smooth out rough skin, giving it a softer and more even texture.
  • By promoting the removal of the damaged top layer of skin, chemical peels help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Chemical peels remove dead skin cells, revealing fresher, more radiant skin underneath.
  • Regular treatments can help reduce the size of enlarged pores, giving the skin a smoother appearance.
  • Some chemical peels stimulate collagen production, which can enhance skin elasticity and firmness.
  • Many chemical peels, especially lighter ones like glycolic acid peels, can be performed quickly with minimal downtime.
  • Chemical peels come in various strengths and formulations, allowing them to be tailored to your specific skin type and concerns.
  • By removing the top layer of dead skin, chemical peels can improve the absorption and efficacy of subsequent skincare products.
  • Chemical peels can be used on various parts of the body, including the face, neck, chest, hands, and even intimate areas.

More Details:

We offer a number of different chemical peels to precisely remove the damaged top layer of the skin, so that you can count on having a flawless skin, with a recovery period suited to your needs and expectations. We strongly feel this is an essential step in any treatment plan, even though your face might need other treatments as well.

Many fine wrinkles and acne scars can be improved using chemical peels such as glycolic acid and trichloracetic acid (TCA) or microdermabrasion. Repeated sessions may be needed. The acids in the peeling solution, exfoliate the top layers of the skin and allow the improvement of “dull skin”, wrinkles, sunspots, roughness, acne and large pores.

The recovery period for glycolic peels is limited to a few hours in which the face may appear red. Makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure to cover this up. TCA peels penetrate deeper and therefore require a healing time of up to a week.

A favorite peel is applied as a ‘mask’, which is washed off the face after 6-8 hours. Subsequently, the skin resembles a burn, and heals completely within 3-7 days. Skin care and careful sun protection is necessary.

Chemical peels are best used as part of a full rejuvenation program which includes Botox, fillers, firming devices and PRP. They are also ideal for rejuvenation of the neck, chest, hands, and the intimate areas.
