What is Eyelid Rejuvenation?
Eyelid rejuvenation refers to a range of cosmetic procedures aimed at improving the appearance of the eyelids by addressing issues such as sagging, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.
Am I a Good Candidate?
- If you have noticeable but not severe sagging or wrinkles around your eyelids, you may benefit from either ablative or non-ablative laser treatments.
- You should have realistic expectations about the results. While laser treatments can significantly improve skin texture and firmness, they may not produce the same results as surgical procedures.
- Ideal candidates should be in good overall health without any serious medical conditions that could impair healing or increase risks associated with the procedure.
- Smoking can impair the healing process and affect results. Non-smokers or those willing to quit smoking before and after the procedure are better candidates.
- Having good skin elasticity can enhance the results of laser treatments. Individuals with relatively elastic skin tend to respond better to these procedures.
- Candidates should not have active skin infections, severe dryness, or other skin conditions in the treatment area.
- If you prefer non-surgical options with less downtime and risk compared to traditional eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), laser rejuvenation might be suitable for you.
Â
Benefits:
- Both ablative and non-ablative laser treatments enhance the texture and firmness of the eyelid skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- These procedures are non-invasive or minimally invasive, providing an alternative to surgical methods like blepharoplasty with less risk and downtime.
- Laser treatments stimulate collagen production, which helps maintain youthful and resilient skin over time.
- Non-ablative laser treatments, in particular, offer minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume normal activities shortly after the procedure. Even ablative treatments typically have a recovery period of just 3-5 days.
- Significant improvements can be seen in the tightness and smoothness of the eyelid skin, contributing to a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
- These procedures are generally performed under topical anesthesia, resulting in minimal discomfort during the treatment.
- The procedures can be tailored to address specific concerns and skin types, ensuring personalized care and optimal results.
- By addressing sagging, wrinkles, and laxity, eyelid rejuvenation can significantly reduce visible signs of aging around the eyes.
- When performed by experienced professionals, laser treatments for eyelid rejuvenation have a low risk of complications compared to surgical alternatives.
- The collagen stimulation and skin resurfacing effects can provide long-lasting improvements, especially when combined with good skincare practices.

Ablative Laser
Fractional and ablative laser resurfacing are done to the damaged skin of the eyelids. The laser is performed with topical anesthesia, and is followed by some redness, bruising and swelling for 3-5 days. The results are dramatic firming of the skin in addition to the impressive surface improvement.
Non-Ablative Laser
These lasers are very effective to tighten the eyelids without any significant downtime. The laser emits an intense beam of light to heat the underlying levels of the skin (the dermal layer) without directly affecting the top layer of the skin (the epidermis). This will stimulate production of collagen, the matrix of the skin, and improve texture and fine lines. Using the appropriate lasers, we have been able to achieve dramatic results for laxity in 2-4 sessions.
The treated area shows no sign after treatment, or it may be red for 1-2 hours and needs to be protected from sun during healing. Sessions are done at 1-2 months intervals in order to obtain the desired result. Patients are asked to refrain from smoking, follow high protein diet, and apply vitamin C serum.
