What is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to lift and reshape sagging breasts. This procedure is ideal for individuals who experience breast drooping due to factors such as pregnancy, significant weight loss, or the natural effects of aging. It can restore youthful pertness and volume, enhancing both the appearance and comfort of your breasts.

Breast Lift Methods
During a breast lift procedure, our specialist removes excess skin and reshapes the breast tissue to lift and firm the breasts. There are three primary incision patterns, each suited to different levels of sagging:
- Periareolar (Around the Nipple):Â An incision is made around the areola to lift and reshape the breasts.
- Vertical (I Incision):Â An incision around the areola and extending vertically down to the inframammary line for more significant lifting.
- Inverted T (Anchor Incision):Â A combination of the vertical incision and an additional incision along the inframammary line, ideal for more significant lifts.
Each method is selected based on your individual anatomy and desired results, ensuring the most effective and natural-looking outcome.

At Skin Experts Polyclinic, each patient is unique, and the cost of a breast lift depends on several factors, including your pre-existing breast anatomy and individual goals. Frequently Asked Questions
Before getting a breast lift
We recommend a gynaecological examination and (if applicable) ultrasound or mammography.
After getting a breast lift, you should wear a special compression bra for about 6 weeks. The suture material we use is self-dissolving and does not need to be removed. You do need to plan a few days’ break from work/daily life after the operation and expect to attend regular check-ups of the wound over the first 4–6 weeks. You also should not do any sports like jogging or tennis for the first 4–6 weeks.
Implants are used to increase the volume of the breast. However, if the breast sags too far (breast ptosis), then a breast lift should be performed at the same time. Above all, this improves the long-term effect of the procedure.
If you were able to breastfeed before the operation, then you can assume that you will also be able to do so after the breast lift. In very rare cases, your ability to breastfeed may be negatively impacted after the operation.
This is probable if you were able to breastfeed before the operation.
Yes, this is possible. Even after an operation, your breasts will change over time. In rare cases, you may need to undergo an additional breast lift. Repeat lifts are possible. However, the surgeon should be fully informed of the previous surgical methods.
Breast lifts can be performed as outpatient or inpatient procedures (1–2 nights’ stay for the latter). We recommend an inpatient stay at the Difine Clinic of one day. The next day, our specialist will check up on you and drain fluids if necessary. Afterwards, you are free to go home. Regular post-operative check-ups take place at Difine.
That depends on the extent of the operation. Usually, you will be able to work again after 1–2 weeks.
After the operation, you will receive a support bra to wear for approximately 4–6 weeks. During this time, you should avoid strenuous physical labour or lifting heavy objects.
